Who we are
Future Generators sells generators, solar kits, inverters, batteries and related power equipment from Tampa, Florida. This policy covers the online store and the customer account area. When it says "we" or "us", it means Future Generators.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and company name, and your sign-in details.
- Addresses: the delivery and billing addresses you enter at checkout or save in your account.
- Orders: what you bought, what you paid, delivery method, tracking, cancellations, returns and refunds.
- Payment method references: for a saved payment method we keep only a reference from the payment processor, the card brand and the last four digits. Full card numbers and security codes are entered into fields hosted by the payment processor and never reach our servers.
- Store credit: your balance and the history of how it was issued and spent.
- Things you save or post: product reviews, your saved items and saved system configurations.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form, including the name, email address and phone number you give us so we can reply, together with the page the form was sent from and the IP address it came from.
- Newsletter subscription: your email address, when you subscribed, where on the site you signed up and the IP address the sign-up came from, as a record of your consent.
Information collected as you use the store
- Page and product views, only with your consent. If you choose "Allow analytics", we record which pages and products are viewed. This is first-party analytics: the records stay with us and are not sent to an advertising or analytics network. If you choose "Necessary only", or make no choice, we do not record them.
- Technical data needed to run the site: like any website, our servers receive your IP address and browser details with each request. We use them to keep the store secure and to limit automated abuse of forms and sign-in.
We do not use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
We use personal information only for the purposes below. Each one has a reason the law recognises.
| What we do | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Take and deliver your order, charge sales tax, send order and delivery emails, handle cancellations, returns, refunds, store credit and warranty help. | It is necessary to carry out the sale you asked for. |
| Run your account: sign-in, saved addresses, order history, saved items and saved builds. | It is necessary to provide the account you asked for. |
| Keep order, payment and refund records. | Tax and accounting law requires it. |
| Answer contact-form messages and support requests. | You asked us to, and we have a legitimate interest in answering our customers. |
| Protect the store against fraud, automated abuse and misuse of accounts. | We have a legitimate interest in keeping the store and its customers safe. |
| Send product news and offers by email. | Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time. |
| Record page and product views to improve the store. | Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time. |
Cookies and local storage
The store does not set advertising cookies. It keeps a small amount of information in your browser's local storage, which works much like a cookie:
- Cart and session token (always on). Identifies your cart and keeps you signed in. The store cannot work without it.
- Your privacy choice (always on). Remembers whether you allowed analytics, so we do not ask on every page.
The privacy banner gives you two choices, and both are equally easy to make:
- Necessary only: only the storage listed above is used. No page or product views are recorded.
- Allow analytics: we also record which pages and products are viewed, as described above.
You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button at the bottom of every page, or here:
The payment fields and the bot check are provided by the companies named above and run in their own frames. They may use their own cookies or storage where that is needed for payment security and fraud prevention.
How long we keep it
- Account information is kept until you delete your account.
- Order, payment and refund records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after an account is deleted.
- Newsletter subscription: we email you until you unsubscribe. After that we keep a record that the address is unsubscribed so that we do not email it again.
- Contact-form messages are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.
- Cart and session data in your browser stays until it expires or you clear your browser storage. A guest session lasts up to 30 days and a signed-in session up to 14 days.
Your rights and choices
Download your information
Sign in and open Profile and privacy in your account to download everything we hold on your account.
Delete your account
You can delete your account on the same page. An account cannot be deleted while an order or a return is still open, and you will be asked to confirm if deleting it would forfeit unused store credit. Order, payment and refund records are retained as required by tax and accounting law.
Correct your information
You can edit your name, phone number, company and saved addresses in your account. For anything you cannot change yourself, email us and we will correct it.
Stop marketing emails
Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. Account holders can also turn marketing emails off under Profile and privacy in their account. Emails about an order you placed, such as confirmations and tracking updates, are not marketing and will still be sent.
Withdraw analytics consent
Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page and choose "Necessary only".
If you do not have an account
Guests can make any of these requests by emailing sales@futuregenerators.com from the address used on the order. We will confirm that the request comes from you before acting on it, and we will reply by email.
Depending on where you live, your state's privacy law may give you further rights. Contact us to exercise them. We will not treat you differently for making a privacy request.
Security
Card numbers are entered into fields hosted by the payment processor and never reach our servers. Access to customer and order records is limited to staff who need it for their role. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission. If you think your account has been misused, contact us straight away.
Children
This store sells power equipment to adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so clearly on this page.
