About these terms
These terms apply to every order placed through this store and to your use of the site. By placing an order you agree to them, and checkout asks you to confirm that. If you do not agree, please do not place an order.
Four other pages form part of these terms: the Shipping policy, the Returns and refunds policy, the Warranty page and the Privacy policy.
Ordering and acceptance
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. You are responsible for giving us an accurate delivery address, email address and phone number.
Placing an order is an offer to buy the items in it. Payment is taken when you place the order, and we send an order confirmation by email with your order number. We accept the order when we confirm it.
We check availability before you pay, but stock can change. We may cancel an order, in whole or in part, if an item turns out to be unavailable, if it cannot be shipped to your address, if the listing contained an obvious error in price or description, or if the payment cannot be verified. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund what you paid for the cancelled items to your original payment method.
Prices and sales tax
Prices are in US dollars and can change at any time before you place an order. The price that applies is the one shown at checkout when you place it. Products with options are priced according to the options you select.
Sales tax is calculated from the delivery address and shown at checkout before you pay. Shipping is charged as described in the Shipping policy.
A discount code applies only under the conditions it was issued with, and only while it is still valid when you place the order.
Payment
We accept payment cards and ACH bank payments. Payments are handled by our payment processor, HexaPay. Card details are entered into fields hosted by the processor, so card numbers never reach our servers.
By submitting a payment you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method. If a payment is declined, the order is not placed. If a payment is later reversed or charged back, we may cancel the order or ask for the amount owed.
Store credit on your account can be applied to an order at checkout.
Shipping and risk of loss
Orders ship by parcel carrier or by LTL freight, or can be collected from our warehouse in Tampa, Florida. The Shipping policy explains the options, costs and restrictions. Delivery dates shown at checkout or by a carrier are estimates, not guarantees.
The risk of loss or damage passes to you when the carrier delivers the order to the address you gave us, or when you or someone acting for you collects it at pickup. Ownership of the goods passes to you at the same moment, provided we have received payment in full.
Inspect your delivery when it arrives. If a package or pallet is visibly damaged, note the damage on the carrier's delivery receipt before signing and contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellations
You can cancel an order online, from your order page or through the Track order page, until we start preparing it for shipment. A cancelled order is refunded to the original payment method. Card refunds typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
Once an order is being prepared or has shipped it can no longer be cancelled. It has to be sent back as a return instead.
Returns and refunds
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Returns must be approved before anything is sent back, and an approved return is given a return number (RMA) that must be written on the package. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once we receive the return, and store credit used on the order is returned as store credit.
The full procedure is in the Returns and refunds policy.
Warranties and disclaimers
Products are covered by their manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer's warranty terms decide what is covered, for how long, and what the remedy is. We help you file a claim: see the Warranty page.
Future Generators does not give a separate warranty of its own. Except for the manufacturer's warranty, and to the fullest extent the law allows, products and this site are provided "as is", and we disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Some states do not allow implied warranties to be excluded or limited, so the paragraph above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law does not allow to be waived.
Product descriptions, specifications, runtime figures and the results of the calculator and configurator are provided to help you choose. They are estimates based on the information available to us and on what you enter, not a guarantee of performance in your installation.
Installation and safe use
Generators, inverters, batteries and solar equipment can cause serious injury or property damage if they are installed or used incorrectly. You are responsible for installing and using what you buy in line with the manufacturer's instructions and with the electrical, building and fire codes that apply where you are, including using a licensed electrician and obtaining permits where those are required.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Future Generators is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from an order or from the use of a product or of this site. That includes lost profits, lost data, loss of use, and the cost of spoiled goods or downtime during a power outage.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order.
Some states do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Accounts
You do not need an account to buy. Guests can check out and then track an order with the order number and the email address used on it.
Accounts are created by invitation or by claiming an existing order. If you have an account, keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for orders placed through your account. You can delete your account under Profile and privacy in your account, as described in the Privacy policy.
We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud or to abuse the store.
Using the site
When you use this site you agree not to:
- interfere with the site or try to access accounts, orders or systems that are not yours;
- use automated tools to place orders, submit forms or collect content from the site;
- give false information when ordering, contacting us or posting a review.
A product review must be your own honest opinion of a product. By posting a review you allow us to display it on the site. We may hide or remove a review that is abusive, misleading or unrelated to the product.
The text, images and design of this site belong to Future Generators or to the manufacturers and suppliers whose products we sell. You may not reuse them commercially without permission.
Governing law
These terms and every order placed through this store are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking to us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we both accept the jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to an order is the one posted here when the order is placed. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed.
